Success in Honduras.

The dictator has been impeached/thrown out.
The Military has let go of the government.
The Congress has appointed a new President - via what the Constitution prescribes.
The Republican form of government in Honduras has been maintained, and National elections will be held in November - without the dictator on the ballot.

For once, a Nation actually fights against tyranny in the Southern/Central American part of the world, for once a Constitution is defended by all costs, for once a dictatorship has been prevented. This is excellent news for the world, and should provide for encouragement to Iranians - except instead of keeping their government, they need to overthrow it - and create a new Constitution, I would consider the United States or Honduras as a good starting point for a Republican form of government.

You must keep freedom, and freedom must keep you. Honduras has protected their Constitution, Republic, and Freedom - unlike forces in neighboring Nations, let this serve as an example of freedom, and being against tyranny, America's leadership & peoples must stand on the side of Honduras, their Constitution, and their successful fight against tyranny - along with support for Iranian protesters, so they to....can enjoy the freedom that people in Honduras clearly hold sacred to them.

President Ousted in Honduras

The Honduran military has ousted Manuel Zelaya, sending him into exile in Costa Rica:

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (June 28) - Soldiers seized the national palace and sent President Manuel Zelaya into exile in Costa Rica early Sunday, hours before a highly disputed constitutional referendum. Zelaya called the action a coup and pledged to serve out the remaining five months of his term.
The President and his Secretary of State were quick to voice their concerns for democracy and the rule of law:
President Barack Obama said he was "deeply concerned" by Zelaya's expulsion and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the arrest should be condemned.

"I call on all political and social actors in Honduras to respect democratic norms, the rule of law and the tenets of the Inter-American Democratic Charter," Obama's statement read.

Of course, the Honduran military acted with the support of that country's supreme court, who had ruled Zelaya's proposals to change the constitution so that he could remain in power illegal. Also of course, Zelaya is a radical leftist allied with Hugo Chavez.

Wow, the Obama administration springs immediately into action to succor a wannabe Marxist dictator, yet Beloved Leader Barrack couldn't find it in his heart to say a few "just words" when Iranians were dying in the streets under the thumb of the mullahs"

From what Obama & Clinton have said, apparently the Constitution & freedoms of the people in Honduras mean nothing, where is Ronald Reagan when you need him?

Tim,

Good article. Dictators need reason to fear the United States again.
